What You’ll Do
- Assess and make decisions on consumer credit applications up to £25,000 using open banking data, credit bureau reports, and application details.
- Analyze income and affordability, focusing on customer transactions and cash flow through open banking sources.
- Evaluate credit risk and decide on approvals or declines in line with Kroo’s policies, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and document potentially fraudulent or suspicious applications, including performing KYC and fraud checks when needed.
- Apply sound judgment to near-prime cases, balancing customer outcomes with risk management.
- Work closely with colleagues in underwriting, risk, and operations to support a smooth customer experience.
- Help improve underwriting processes, controls, and decision standards as the team evolves.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Kroo’s products and understand how underwriting decisions affect customer experience and portfolio results.
- Keep up to date with UK regulations and compliance standards relevant to consumer lending.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years of experience in credit underwriting or credit risk assessment.
- Solid understanding of consumer lending, affordability checks, and credit risk concepts.
- Hands-on experience analyzing open banking data for income and affordability assessments.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in risk review and decision-making.
- Clear communication and effective interpersonal skills.
