Job Description We are on the lookout for an outstanding Tax Manager to become an integral part of our Tax team at our Dallas headquarters. The Tax Manager will oversee the tax compliance and consulting requirements for HBK’s funds, management companies, and Managing Directors. This role presents a unique opportunity to join a highly visible team that is pivotal to all functions of the Tax department, including compliance, tax consulting, adherence to firm policies, relationship management, and ongoing process enhancements. At HBK, our flat organizational structure allows employees to expand their roles and responsibilities. Job Responsibilities Provide tax consulting services related to fund investments, including understanding dividend, interest, and capital gains tax regulations and rates across various jurisdictions (both U.S. and foreign), liaising with investment professionals, and developing effective structures. Offer tax consulting for HBK’s partners and management companies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and U.K. tax regulations pertinent to the ownership and operation of HBK’s business, while engaging with the firm’s partners and senior managers to implement suitable frameworks. Coordinate with Fund Accounting, Investor Accounting, and Financial Reporting teams to gather essential data for tax return preparation. Prepare U.S. and international tax returns for funds, management companies, and partners. Process tax depreciation for management companies. Oversee Form 1099 and Form 1042 reporting for funds and management companies. Monitor ASC 740 tax exposure and prepare annual reports for auditors. Engage in various special projects, including policy and procedure documentation and data analysis. Collaborate with HBK’s development team to enhance tax systems. Perform additional duties as assigned.
