The Role:
As a Creature FX Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in crafting a wide array of dynamic simulations for character-driven projects, encompassing hair, clothing, skin, and muscle, along with post-simulation sculpting and final touches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop simulation rigs for characters and creatures utilizing Maya nCloth, nHair, and both third-party and proprietary tools.
- Execute shots using simulation rigs and deliver completed assets to the Lighting department.
- Collaborate effectively with teams in Modelling, Rigging, Animation, Lighting, and Grooming departments.
- Contribute to the evolution of departmental tools and methodologies.
- Adhere to project timelines while upholding the highest quality standards.
- Present work for critique to leads, supervisors, and clients, and implement feedback as necessary.
- Maintain consistent communication with production and leads regarding project timelines.
- Stay updated with new tools, software, and technology relevant to the role.
- Work collaboratively within a team or independently to meet project objectives.
