Role overview
The Controls Technician supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and daily operation of building automation and control systems within a critical data center. This includes working with Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and equipment-level controls in a 24/7 environment. Collaboration with the Controls Engineer and Operations team is central to keeping systems reliable and efficient.
Key responsibilities
- Install and maintain building automation and control systems for data center operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with BMS, EPMS, PLC, and equipment controls
- Operate and monitor control systems to ensure continuous uptime
- Handle tasks such as wiring control panels, investigating alarms through BMS interfaces, and calibrating sensors on chillers
- Work closely with the Controls Engineer and Operations team on system improvements and incident response
Requirements
- Technical background in controls, automation, or a related field
- Experience with wiring, system troubleshooting, and sensor calibration
