To thrive in this position, candidates should ideally possess the following qualifications, though meeting all criteria is not required:3-5+ years of relevant experience in project management focused on architecture, landscape architecture, construction, or a related field. Proven ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple tasks and collaborating with a diverse array of colleagues, external vendors, and partners. Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications, with familiarity in construction administration processes, including submittal and shop drawing reviews. Expertise in budget management and scheduling. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, adaptable office environment. Exceptional verbal, written, and graphic communication skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Google Suite.

Join the dynamic team at the High Line, where as a Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all phases of design and construction projects within the iconic High Line park and headquarters facility. Your projects will encompass a variety of scopes, including new construction, renovation, capital repair, and infrastructure-focused endeavors. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you will ensure the successful delivery of projects that enhance the park experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from inception to completion, managing contracts and overseeing different phases including small-scale repairs and larger capital initiatives.
  • Develop comprehensive scopes of work, solicit and evaluate bids from architects, engineers, contractors, and construction managers, and create meticulous estimates, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure effective coordination between planning, design, and park operations departments, confirming all projects align with the institutional calendar and resource allocation.
  • Establish clear communication channels to keep all stakeholders informed about project impacts on the park.
  • Collaborate with external architects, landscape architects, and consultants to ensure project execution aligns with design intent.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure construction adherence to contract documents.
  • Engage with NYC Parks and other city agencies for necessary approvals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
