This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring on-site attendance in Pomona, California on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Engage in initial field assessments to explore project alternatives with Transmission Engineering and Environmental teams, providing insights on construction viability.
- Adopt a balanced approach to construction design, ensuring alignment with engineering requirements, feasibility, and adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Conduct necessary field evaluations to outline a comprehensive plan for all construction activities supporting the chosen project alternative.
- Draft a detailed construction narrative plan that corresponds to the Engineering scope, including comprehensive descriptions of construction tasks, personnel allocations, and time estimates.
- Create a Google Earth map set representing all construction zones, collaborate with the Project Team, and submit the finalized maps to the GIS team for further processing.
- Compile a list of necessary project permits.
- Assist in entering the project into EHSync and responding to inquiries from Environmental, Real Properties, and Government Lands teams.
- Contribute to the Project Execution Strategy review alongside the Project Team and local Grid to appoint a Responsible Party for Construction, leveraging in-house skills and resources for informed recommendations.
- Collaborate with Grid resources to ensure project work aligns with TLRR Program Plan requirements.
- Consult with the GCC to outline a preliminary construction schedule and initial outage requests.
- Support the development of specifications and scopes of work to facilitate the bidding process for contracted project tasks.
- Engage in the bidding process by attending job walks and bid conferences, addressing technical inquiries, and participating in bid evaluations and selections.
- Participate in the project construction kickoff meeting to establish performance expectations.
- Join regular construction meetings to offer subject matter expertise and relay progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Meet with Contractors as required to address and rectify performance challenges.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on project QA/QC documentation.
- Assist with Final Acceptance and Project Closeout as necessary.
