Join SMX as a Cloud Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and implementing secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructures, applications, and services that support the enterprise cloud migration and mission-critical systems for the United States Air Force. You will be responsible for cloud design, development, engineering, integration, and architecture. Your responsibilities will include onboarding new cloud accounts and applications, conducting security patching, creating code pipelines, and assisting in deployment activities, primarily utilizing AWS, while also having familiarity with multi-cloud solutions such as Azure, Google, and Oracle, as well as Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E) classified cloud migration and deployments. You may develop solutions from the ground up using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Packer, AWS Code*, and related products. This position allows you to contribute to the strategic vision and integrate a diverse array of engineering solutions tailored to client requirements for Air Force cloud projects. You will help define system scope and objectives, develop or modify processes to solve complex problems for cloud systems, and achieve desired results through innovative technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, and optimize secure cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, Google, and/or Oracle environments.
- Engage in client-facing meetings and collaborate effectively with other vendors.
- Participate in technical discussions both internally and with customer or vendor teams.
- Focus on cloud-native services to enhance the customer landscape through their adoption.
- Define and engineer solution capabilities that meet customer business drivers and service delivery objectives.
- Lead and/or support cloud migration strategies and establish environments (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) across classified and unclassified networks.
- Implement automation for provisioning, configuration, security, and monitoring in alignment with DevOps best practices.
- Integrate cloud services with analytical tools.
- Assist in designing infrastructure security, patching, and compliance documentation to support governance.
