What You'll DoProvide hands-on technical assistance for database and cloud infrastructure challenges across technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Valkey (Redis), MongoDB, and Clickhouse, with experience in cloud-native and Kubernetes environments. Identify and resolve production issues affecting database performance, availability, replication, backups, and connectivity. Guide customers in creating scalable, reliable, and high-performing database architectures on DigitalOcean. Collaborate with senior engineers (IC3/IC4) and stakeholders to facilitate onboarding, migrations, customer success, and the resolution of complex escalations. Engage in incident response and on-call duties to address critical customer issues. Contribute to team development through case reviews, knowledge sharing, and maintaining technical documentation and playbooks for continuous improvement. Champion customer feedback to influence product enhancements and platform improvements. Spot opportunities to utilize automation and AI tools to optimize support workflows.

DigitalOcean is hiring a Cloud Support Engineer - Database for its Bengaluru office. This team focuses on helping customers get the most from cloud infrastructure and managed database products. The role supports key accounts with direct, hands-on problem solving and guidance.

What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot database and cloud infrastructure issues for customers, working closely with users to resolve problems quickly and thoroughly.
  • Advise customers on best practices for managed databases and DigitalOcean’s platform.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to address complex scenarios and ensure strong customer outcomes.
  • Grow technical knowledge across a range of database systems and DigitalOcean services.
