About Rune Technologies
Rune Technologies is at the forefront of transforming military logistics and sustainment through innovative AI-driven solutions. By merging elite software development expertise from Silicon Valley with extensive operational experience collaborating with the Department of Defense, Rune creates pioneering software that addresses the most pressing logistics challenges faced by the U. S. military and its allies. Our flagship product, TyrOS, is an advanced software platform designed to optimize logistics at both tactical and operational levels, enabling comprehensive management of inventory, personnel, equipment, and distribution. TyrOS integrates vital information for informed, data-driven logistics decisions, harnessing AI for decision support, predictive analytics, and optimization at unprecedented speeds. Rune's mission is to empower military logistics and sustainment communities with the software they need for future challenges.
About the Role
As part of Rune Technologies, you will be instrumental in constructing the cloud infrastructure that underpins logistics operations across both cloud and edge environments. This includes managing centralized systems and distributed nodes operating under constrained and disconnected conditions. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will scale and operate the cloud backbone that supports our innovative platform.
This is not your typical cloud role; you will take an early-stage platform and evolve it into a highly available, multi-environment system capable of coordinating with edge deployments and accommodating distributed workloads. Your work will ensure infrastructure reliability while interfacing with thousands of nodes in diverse settings, including systems with sporadic connectivity.
Your responsibilities will include designing and managing cloud infrastructure across AWS and multi-cloud environments, building and maintaining Kubernetes-based deployment systems, and ensuring our platform is scalable, resilient, and adaptable as our usage expands. You will also facilitate the connection between cloud and edge systems to enable synchronization, deployment, and observability across a distributed network.
This position merges platform engineering, deployment engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), with a strong focus on developing systems that operate effectively in real-world production environments, rather than just ideal cloud conditions.
