Qualifications:Proven experience in cloud engineering or related field. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients and team members. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.

Join our dynamic State and Local Platforms and Data Managed Services team as a talented Cloud Engineer. In this crucial role, you'll be an integral part of our operations group, working across diverse client environments to implement, manage, and support cloud infrastructure and services. Collaborating with internal teams and clients, you will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of cloud-based systems while adhering to industry standards and fulfilling service-level agreements (SLAs). This hybrid position requires occasional travel to client sites, so candidates must be located within commuting distance of Columbia, SC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and provide daily operational support for client cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or hybrid).
  • Implement and manage cloud resources, including computing, storage, networking, and security components for multiple clients.
  • Assist with cloud migrations, new implementations, system upgrades, and integrations by closely collaborating with project teams and clients.
  • Automate routine operational tasks using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Monitor system health, performance, costs, and security alerts across client environments, proactively resolving issues and escalating when necessary.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests per contractual SLAs, providing comprehensive troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution documentation.
  • Enforce client-specific security requirements, access controls, and backup/recovery procedures in line with compliance standards and best practices.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of environments, change logs, and knowledge base articles for all assigned clients.
  • Collaborate with Service Desk and NOC teams to provide exceptional and consistent support for all managed cloud services customers.
  • Stay updated with new cloud services, features, and best practices, contributing to service improvements and process optimizations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.
