Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in land development engineering, with a focus on residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects. EIT certification is preferred. Proficient in Civil 3D and/or other CAD software applications. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Timmons Group is actively seeking a driven and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer II/III to bolster our Land Development team in Raleigh, NC. The selected Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in a diverse array of land development projects, spanning from residential neighborhoods to commercial enterprises and public spaces.

The ideal candidate for the Project Engineer II/III role will possess 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering. This individual will be responsible for executing site development engineering and project management duties across various land development initiatives. Candidates should have a solid background in site civil design, permitting processes, and familiarity with industry-standard software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Projects will encompass a broad spectrum of land development designs. In addition to technical skills, responsibilities will include research, coordination, task management, and fostering collaboration within design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, and stormwater management systems utilizing Civil 3D and other modeling tools.
  • Executing engineering calculations and addressing real-world design challenges.
  • Drafting technical specifications and construction documentation.
  • Conducting research and preparing objective reports to facilitate project completion.
  • Assisting in cost estimation and construction planning.
  • Supporting field inspections and data collection efforts.
  • Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and senior engineers to deliver exceptional results.
