Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering. Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation or eligibility. Experience in designing watermains, stormwater systems, and sanitary sewers is a beneficial asset. Proven experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. Proficient in design software such as Civil3D, InRoads/OpenRoads, and GIS. Familiarity with local municipal engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements in the Lower Mainland of BC. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.

We are currently seeking a talented Civil Infrastructure Engineer with substantial experience in site development, grading design, surface water management, and underground utility coordination. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in municipal, industrial, and urban infrastructure projects, guiding them from conceptual design through to construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support site grading design, performing cut and fill analysis, earthwork balancing, and optimization.
  • Design effective surface water management systems, including major/minor drainage systems, stormwater conveyance, and detention strategies.
  • Prepare and review stormwater management plans in compliance with municipal standards and MMCD specifications.
  • Design underground infrastructure including storm, sanitary, and watermain systems alongside utility connections.
  • Coordinate with utility authorities (water, sanitary, storm, hydro, telecom, gas) for service connections and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic assessments to inform drainage design.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, grading plans, profiles, and servicing layouts using Civil 3D.
  • Employ GIS tools for site analysis, utility mapping, and infrastructure planning.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to confirm grading, drainage installation, and utility works.
  • Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs.
  • Ensure compliance with local municipal standards (Lower Mainland BC), MMCD specifications, and relevant regulations.
  • Select suitable construction materials while ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination across various aspects of design and construction, including environmental, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Assist in drafting tender documents, technical specifications, and support during project construction phases.
  • Engage in environmental assessments and regulatory compliance processes related to infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure that designs adhere to necessary codes, standards, and regulations while also respecting project timelines and budgets.
  • Utilize Civil3D and/or InRoads/OpenRoads for preparing detailed engineering designs, drawings, and reports.
