About the Role
We are on the lookout for a highly strategic and operationally skilled Chief of Staff to collaborate closely with our Executive Director (ED) at the Sei Development Foundation. The Chief of Staff acts as a key partner to the ED/COO, ensuring organizational efficiency, alignment of priorities across teams, and facilitating essential inter-departmental coordination. This role is crucial for executing strategic initiatives, acting as a trusted companion to executive leadership, and providing comprehensive visibility into organizational priorities and performance. The CoS will be responsible for establishing processes, maintaining operational rhythms, and ensuring follow-through on key initiatives, allowing other leaders to focus on their specific domains.
This role is based in New York City and requires a strong on-site presence for effective collaboration with the executive team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Execution & ED Support
Manage the ED's agenda by preparing briefings, analyses, meeting materials, and follow-up actions.
Represent the ED in internal meetings and cross-functional discussions when necessary.
Monitor and drive the completion of ED-level priorities and execute strategic goals across the organization.
Enhance executive leadership effectiveness by translating high-level strategies into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
Draft internal and external communications on behalf of the ED.
Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Coordination
Create and uphold operational rhythms, including planning cycles, project trackers, executive summaries, and follow-ups that promote accountability.
Lead cross-departmental initiatives from conception to execution, ensuring seamless coordination among stakeholders.
Identify organizational inefficiencies and risks, proactively implementing effective solutions.
