The Chief Building Engineer plays a pivotal role in leading the Engineering team, ensuring optimal building maintenance, repair, and operations while prioritizing tenant satisfaction, safety, and overall building efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all facets of building maintenance, focusing on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Track and manage building energy consumption to promote efficient operations.
- Supervise contractor engagements and oversee tenant improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets; oversee inventory and procurement processes.
- Lead, mentor, and assess the Engineering team; establish performance goals and professional development plans.
- Work collaboratively with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure smooth operations and resolve tenant concerns.
- Coordinate with vendors to define project scopes and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections to ensure systems function efficiently; maintain meticulous records and compliance documentation.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA standards; manage safety programs and training.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, leadership, vendors, tenants, and clients.
- Perform additional duties as required.
