Role overview

Contributors will design and document original computational chemistry problems that reflect real-world research workflows. Tasks include:

  • Creating problems that require Python programming to solve, using libraries such as numpy, scipy, and specialized chemical libraries
  • Ensuring problems are computationally intensive and not solvable manually within a short timeframe
  • Developing scenarios that demand advanced reasoning in physical chemistry, quantum chemistry, and molecular modeling
  • Basing problems on authentic research challenges or practical applications in chemistry
  • Verifying solutions in Python using standard computational chemistry methods
  • Clearly documenting each problem statement and providing accurate, verified answers

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation (skills in MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar languages are also considered)
  • At least 2 years of experience in applied research or teaching
  • Background in numerical methods for chemistry
  • Familiarity with computational chemistry concepts and methodologies
  • Strong written English skills (C1 level or higher)

Project structure
