Position Overview

The Certified Veterinary Technician plays a crucial role in supporting our hospital's operations, delivering high-quality veterinary care and outstanding service to our animal patients and their owners. Key responsibilities include assessing patient needs, performing diagnostic procedures, assisting in surgeries, administering nursing care, managing medical supplies and equipment, overseeing patient triage and discharge, and meticulously maintaining medical records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess animal needs by conducting thorough examinations, interviewing pet owners, reviewing care plans, and performing laboratory tests and diagnostics.
  • Provide compassionate patient care by monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens, administering medications, and tending to wounds.
  • Facilitate examinations and surgical procedures by preparing necessary supplies and instruments, escorting patients to examination areas, and assisting veterinarians as needed.
  • Deliver comprehensive pet care utilizing knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
  • Ensure availability of medications and verify their accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment by sanitizing patient areas and adhering to sterilization protocols.
  • Document patient conditions and updates in medical records accurately and promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' health and status, as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of medical equipment and supplies, following operational guidelines.
