To excel as a Broadcast Operations Engineer, candidates should possess:Proven experience in monitoring broadcast and related systems to ensure seamless operations during game days. A proactive approach in assisting with the maintenance, repair, installation, and expansion of broadcast systems. Ability to support junior and seasonal members of the broadcast operations team effectively. Collaboration skills to work closely with management in refining processes for both remote and local teams within MLB and MiLB. Strong issue escalation and communication skills to liaise with other MLB departments and club contacts for quick resolutions. Experience offering Tier 1/Tier 2 support for game-day streaming operations for MLB.tv and MiLB. TV, including handling hardware, software, and communication devices in MLB Ballparks and data centers. Technical support skills for MLB’s global video distribution system, acting as a liaison with distribution partners when needed. Adept at monitoring and analyzing telemetry for local media, RSN, and national broadcaster feeds, ensuring signal integrity for both OTT and linear distribution. Experience in managing IP transmission workflows using Zixi, SRT, and RTP over WAN, including configuring and troubleshooting encoders/decoders. Strong documentation skills for incident reports and driving incident management protocols during live events.

The Broadcast Operations Engineer plays a crucial role in managing the daily operations of broadcast technologies and streaming support at Major League Baseball. Our dedicated Broadcast Operations team provides support for a wide range of video, voice communications, and IP monitoring systems across both Major and Minor League levels. This is a full-time position located primarily at our Operations Center in New York City.

The ideal candidate will exhibit outstanding communication abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of audio and video broadcast systems. A functional knowledge of IP networks and integrated multimedia control systems is essential for success in this role.
