Are you ready to redefine the limits of what’s achievable?Essential Qualifications:Robust technical proficiency in building management systems, mechanical and electrical systems, with specific experience in control systems, commissioning, and smart building technology. Demonstrated leadership abilities, adept at managing national projects, workload, financials, and stakeholder relations. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of collaborating effectively with clients, architects, M&E contractors, and senior stakeholders. Thorough understanding of open communication standards, BMS trends, and pioneering smart building solutions. Educational qualifications: HNC or degree in building services, electrical engineering, or computer science; practical BMS experience with Trend, Tridium, or Niagara; proficiency in cause & effect matrices, specifications, and commissioning. Chartered status or actively working towards it, with security clearance or willingness to obtain.

Join AECOM’s Building Engineering Division as a BMS Principal Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will influence the design, execution, and enhancement of building management systems across multiple sectors, including commercial offices, mixed-use developments, industrial facilities, and government projects. This position offers you the opportunity to spearhead innovative solutions, implement advanced smart building technologies, and leave a significant mark on the architectural landscape.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the design, commissioning, and deployment of BMS systems that align with client expectations, regulatory standards, and sustainability objectives.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders, including clients, architects, mechanical and electrical teams, contractors, and senior management, while providing expert insights.
  • Managing intricate projects from inception to completion, which includes feasibility studies, specification development, tender management, cost and bid analysis, and progress reporting.
  • Conducting system evaluations and FAT/SAT testing, delivering comprehensive reports, actionable recommendations, and client training to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Driving business growth, mentoring the BMS team, facilitating knowledge sharing, and contributing to advancements in smart building technologies.
  • Promoting best practices in Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E), resolving technical challenges while ensuring compliance and cultivating a safety-first culture.
  • Supporting the integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, utilizing your expertise in open communication standards and advanced BMS technologies such as Trend, Tridium, and Niagara.
  • Occasionally traveling to project sites and AECOM offices, balancing remote and office-based responsibilities.
