Responsibilities:Execute routine preventive maintenance on a variety of medical equipment to ensure optimal function and longevity. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in medical devices, following manufacturer guidelines and technical specifications. Conduct thorough incoming inspections of new medical equipment to confirm compliance with safety standards and functional accuracy. Work closely with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure the security of medical devices.

Role Overview

The Biomedical Equipment Technician / Equipment Support Specialist - Level I will work onsite in Louisville, KY. This role ensures that medical equipment at the VA operates safely and reliably. The position involves hands-on technical work and collaboration with clinical and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on medical equipment
  • Conduct incoming inspections and electrical safety checks
  • Install and secure medical devices
  • Address hazard recalls and manage software repairs
  • Support Cerner integration efforts
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure equipment meets patient care standards
