Educational and Experience Requirements:Completion of a two-year vocational electronics program is required. A minimum of two years' experience as a BMET Intern at Anne Arundel Medical Center is preferred, or an Associate’s Degree in Electronics/Biomedical Engineering Science from an accredited institution may be considered. Alternatively, appropriate military training and one tour of duty as a Biomedical Equipment Technician may substitute for an Associate’s Degree. Applicants must possess their own vehicle and be willing to use it for work, with mileage reimbursement available. Required License/Certifications:Must hold a valid Maryland driver's license with a driving record of no more than two (2) points.

About the job

The Biomedical Engineering Technician II at Luminis Health works under general supervision to support the safe and effective operation of medical equipment at the Annapolis, MD Medical Center. This role centers on both preventive and corrective maintenance for a range of diagnostic, laboratory, and therapeutic devices.

Main Responsibilities

  • Repair, calibrate, clean, and perform safety checks on various biomedical equipment, following manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain thorough records for maintenance activities, inventory, and safety inspections as required by departmental policies.
  • Carry out all work in accordance with MOSHA regulations and manufacturer safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe equipment handling procedures.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste properly, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
