The team conducts operational testing at Mach 5 and above, providing vital flight data to validate system performance and speed up technology deployment. Stratolaunch works closely with partners to drive innovation that supports national security.

Role Overview

The Avionics Electrical Drafter (levels I, II, or Senior) will support the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of electrical and avionics systems for Stratolaunch's carrier and hypersonic vehicles. This position is based in Mojave, CA.

What You Will Do

  • Create detailed engineering documentation, including wiring diagrams and harness drawings, following ASME. Y14 and other industry drafting standards.
  • Develop and update drawing packages for systems and sub-systems.
  • Plan, draft, and revise part, assembly, and installation drawings in line with Stratolaunch and aerospace industry standards.
  • Understand how electrical and mechanical components interact within larger assemblies.
  • Incorporate redlines from engineering and address feedback from completed manufacturing work.
  • Use advanced CAD and graphic design tools, such as CAD, NX, CATIA, and Mentor Graphics.
  • Document process improvements to strengthen drafting practices.
  • Collaborate with teams involved in design, purchasing, manufacturing, integration, and testing.

What We Look For

Background in aerospace development and experience with aerospace systems integration are important for this role.
