AECOM is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Structural Engineer III to become part of our Ports & Marine team. This role will focus on the planning, analysis, and design of marine and waterfront infrastructure projects in locations such as Seattle, WA, Houston, TX, or Orange, CA. We are particularly interested in early-career structural engineers who possess a solid academic foundation and practical experience in contributing to design deliverables for intricate infrastructure projects, all while working closely under the mentorship of senior engineers and project managers.The ideal candidate will engage in structural engineering tasks across a variety of port, marine, and coastal facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide technically robust and code-compliant solutions for both public and private sector clients.Key Responsibilities:Conduct structural analysis and design for marine and waterfront structures, including port facilities, wharves, piers, bulkheads, retaining walls, and related infrastructure.Assist in the creation of structural calculations, technical memoranda, design reports, and supporting documentation that align with project requirements and client standards.Support the development of plans, details, and specifications in collaboration with senior engineers and designers.Implement applicable codes, standards, and guidelines to ensure that designs adhere to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, geotechnical, coastal, and construction professionals, to facilitate integrated project delivery.Engage in internal quality control processes and respond to review comments under the guidance of senior staff.Assist project teams through various phases of project development, from conceptual and preliminary design through to final design and construction support.Maintain well-organized project files and documentation in compliance with AECOM procedures and quality management systems.Technical Skills and Tools:Proficient in SAP2000, MathCAD, and Microsoft Excel for structural analysis and calculations.Experience in preparing or supporting design documentation using AutoCAD or Revit (either is acceptable).Ability to produce clear, well-documented engineering calculations and reports.
