RequirementsKey Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain advanced production automation equipment and robotic cells for various processes including assembly, joining, fastening, dispensing, testing, and packaging. Utilize mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering principles to innovate automation solutions that minimize cycle times, enhance product quality, and ensure operational safety. Work collaboratively with manufacturing, design, and controls teams to integrate sensors, actuators, PLCs, and vision systems into cohesive automated systems. Develop and optimize process automation sequences and comprehensive work instructions to guarantee high reliability and throughput. Troubleshoot and optimize automation equipment, conducting thorough root cause analyses of any failures. Pursue continuous improvement initiatives for automation hardware, tooling, and processes to enhance production capacity. Maintain detailed documentation, including schematics, layouts, code, operating procedures, and maintenance schedules. Support the introduction of new products by formulating scalable automation strategies for new robot designs. Qualifications:4+ years of relevant experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining production automation equipment and robotic systems. A robust foundation in mechanical, electrical, or controls engineering principles pertaining to automation hardware. Proficiency in PLCs, vision systems, sensors, actuators, and the integration of automation components. Ability to develop and refine work instructions and process sequences, ensuring high reliability and throughput. Exceptional troubleshooting skills with proven experience in root cause analysis of hardware and system failures. Adept at driving process and hardware enhancements to scale production capabilities. Experience in documenting automation systems, including schematics, layouts, operating procedures, and maintenance schedules. Proven track record in supporting new product introductions with automation-centric strategies.
