Essential Qualifications:Degree-level education (minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience). Proven experience in managing teams, both on-site and remotely. Full proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Experience in authoring, researching, and reviewing due diligence reports with a strong command of research, writing, and editing in English. Familiarity with the socio-political landscape of Europe, Africa, Central Asia, or the Middle East. Demonstrated project management experience, particularly with teams distributed across multiple locations. Deep understanding of research methodologies and databases.

As an Associate Research Manager at Control Risks, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of our VANTAGE projects. You will lead a team dedicated to delivering clear, insightful, and meticulously crafted reports that empower our clients to safeguard their integrity and reputation. Your responsibilities will encompass engaging with clients throughout the project lifecycle—from initial scoping to the evaluation of project outcomes. Collaborating closely with the Associate Director, you will assist in managing both internal and external resources to ensure timely and effective project execution. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at growing the team organically while maintaining optimal project margins.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Oversee a team of researchers, senior researchers, and team leads, setting clear objectives and responsibilities aligned with practice goals.
  • Conduct performance reviews and promote professional development to ensure staff well-being.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new research talent alongside the Associate Director.

Project Management for Third-Party Due Diligence:

  • Ensure comprehensive scoping, allocation, tracking, and timely delivery of VANTAGE projects within budget.
  • Engage directly with clients to clarify project scopes, address inquiries, and propose additional research avenues.
  • Review and endorse VANTAGE outputs, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and client specifications.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, providing feedback to uphold global delivery standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Control Risks to resolve client queries effectively.

Regional Research Initiatives:

  • Regularly liaise with other managers and the Quality Assurance team to provide support and feedback on VANTAGE outputs.
  • Participate in discussions with management, Client Services, and Product teams to offer insights for service and product enhancements.
