Position Overview
The Associate Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing, assessing, and refining manufacturing methods and processes to support ongoing production and the launch of new products. This position is integral to ensuring manufacturing readiness, optimizing processes, and facilitating the smooth transition of products from design to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new product concepts and designs for manufacturability, providing insights and recommendations to R&D/Product Engineering.
- Develop innovative manufacturing methods and processes to produce new products in a safe, cost-effective manner while ensuring compliance with quality standards and meeting production demands.
- Conduct proof-of-principle and proof-of-concept studies to validate manufacturing strategies.
- Design comprehensive manufacturing processes, which include layouts, tooling, fixtures, programming, testing, and documentation.
- Continuously enhance existing production methods using Six Sigma principles, leveraging knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, equipment capabilities, assembly techniques, and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges in ongoing production and provide engineering support to operational teams.
- Participate in or lead initiatives focused on Safety, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist in the qualification of new or modified products through manufacturing processes until final completion.
