This team will collaborate directly with researchers and various stakeholders across the firm to develop and maintain the infrastructure necessary for loading, validating, and provisioning large datasets that inform our research and investment strategies. Your Role: As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and constructing a new enterprise data platform utilized by our quantitative researchers to handle vast amounts of market, reference, and alternative data, whether structured or unstructured. You'll also create essential tools for data validation, back-testing, and uncovering valuable investment insights. Collaborating closely with Researchers and Portfolio Managers, you will define and implement detailed business requirements for both new and ongoing projects. This critical team will utilize big data technologies and cloud-based platforms to build scalable and adaptable solutions to meet the data needs of one of the world’s largest quantitative investment firms. What You’ll Bring: 3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related field. Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Exceptional coding, debugging, and analytical capabilities. Proven ability to work directly with business stakeholders to specify and implement solutions. Experience in distributed data environments and managing large datasets. Familiarity with big data frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
