About the job

As the Associate Director and Deputy Head of Rail at AECOM, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Rail and senior management. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing the operational delivery of our Rail projects and facilitating the growth of our India team by leading recruitment efforts and ensuring the onboarding of top talent. This senior position demands a profound technical understanding of the Rail sector, exceptional leadership capabilities, and the aptitude to inspire confidence and trust among our major clients. A critical aspect of your role will be to identify innovative solutions across a diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement technical solutions for complex challenges with minimal supervision.
  • Possess extensive experience in the Rail market.
  • Preferred experience in UK, UAE, US, Canada, and the Middle East.
  • Deep knowledge of rail design services, regulations, and technical standards.
  • Work autonomously while maintaining accountability for your projects.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
  • Make proactive decisions and suggestions for improvement.
  • Stay connected with professional societies to keep abreast of emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with senior management on Business Continuity strategies.
  • Enhance communication between business units and support functions.
  • Implement and uphold important policies and processes.
  • Facilitate efficient processes for collaboration between different business areas.
  • Champion the integration of new technologies within the organization.
  • Provide regular performance reports and recommend improvements to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Engineering or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in Civil Engineering, with experience in UK/Middle East/US markets being advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain a holistic perspective on projects.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage pressure.
  • Accountability for all assigned work.
  • Precision and accuracy in technical tasks.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Outstanding problem-solving capabilities.
