About the Role

To realize our goal of serving 80,000 to 100,000 Fellows in the coming decade, Braven is seeking an Associate Director of Internal Communications. This crucial role is responsible for developing, leading, and implementing internal communication strategies that will enhance organizational clarity and foster a vibrant culture as Braven scales. This position is part of the Communications and Marketing team and reports directly to the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing.

What You’ll Do

Strategy & Operations (65%)

  • Develop and execute an annual internal communications plan and strategies in collaboration with the People & Operations team and Braven's Alignment team. Key responsibilities include:
  • Creating, distributing, and maintaining an organization-wide calendar.
  • Crafting strategies and supporting content for national campaigns, such as Black History Month and staff spotlights.
  • Establishing communication norms and guidelines for various platforms (e.g., Slack, email, Google Hub) to align with Braven’s culture.
  • Leading training sessions on relevant tools, processes, and etiquette.
  • Utilizing quantitative and qualitative insights to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make necessary adjustments.
  • Exploring innovative approaches to engage staff with news and information, enhancing participation in key company initiatives.

Content Creation (35%)

  • Generate and drive communications regarding updates, campaigns, and change management that resonate with and align employees;
  • Manage and implement strategic communications on various topics.
