AECOM is excited to announce an opportunity for an Associate Director – Civil Engineering, tasked with providing technical leadership on a diverse array of projects catering to data centre clients. You will be involved in various stages, from site due diligence and master planning to detailed designs and construction support. This role is essential for driving business growth, enhancing client relationships, and furthering AECOM’s civil engineering capabilities in the data centre sector.
Your collaboration will span across a Civil Engineering Business Unit, working closely with ground engineers, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, process engineers, architects, project managers, environmental specialists, and surveyors, both in the UK and internationally, supporting our impressive portfolio of data centre projects.
As a key figure in the Data Centres Market Sector, you will represent AECOM across EMEA, as well as contribute to the civil engineering expertise in delivering projects for major technology clients. Your focus will be on ensuring technical excellence, resilience, and seamless integration across disciplines, as you work side by side with multidisciplinary teams globally, reinforcing AECOM’s leadership in the Hyperscale and Co-location data centre market.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver civil engineering technical leadership and design governance for data centre and critical infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with AECOM standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Oversee, review, and endorse civil engineering infrastructure designs and specifications, creating viable solutions for site development, earthworks, drainage, pavements, access, utility infrastructure, and civil engineering related to data centres.
- Coordinate effectively with other civil engineers and technical specialists to ensure successful delivery of our data centre project portfolio, engaging with ground, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers, project managers, architects, and environmental consultants in the UK and globally.
- Enhance client engagement, business development, asset reviews, and expansion or upgrade strategies, while nurturing and developing civil engineers to strengthen AECOM’s technical capabilities within the Data Centres sector.
