Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of post-undergraduate experience in architecture. Bachelor’s in Architecture or Master in Architecture, or equivalent qualifications. Preferred: RIBA Part 2 equivalent (RIBA, AIA or similar). Strong proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper. Experience with Revit is essential. Programming skills in Python, C#, or similar scripting languages are required. In-depth understanding of parametric modeling, generative design, and digital fabrication workflows.

AECOM is seeking a talented Associate Architect to join our Architecture + Interiors practice in Dubai. In this pivotal role, you will integrate computational methods, algorithmic design, and advanced digital technologies into our architectural projects. You will support our design teams by creating parametric models, developing automation workflows, and delivering performance-driven design solutions that enhance creativity, efficiency, and overall project delivery.

As an Associate Architect, you will collaborate closely with sector leads, architects, engineers, and digital specialists to convert design intent into computational frameworks, optimizing design outcomes through data-driven processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate both internal design teams and external specialist consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Make informed aesthetic decisions, material selections, and technical choices to address design interfaces and interdisciplinary challenges.
  • Oversee project execution to guarantee alignment with the Design Brief, company standards, industry guidelines, relevant codes, multidisciplinary requirements, and client expectations.
  • Contribute significant design input during early project phases while maintaining design leadership throughout all project stages.
  • Create custom scripts, plugins, or tools to enhance design productivity.
  • Automate repetitive modeling and documentation tasks.
  • Support BIM and digital design processes, integrating with platforms such as Revit and Rhino.
  • Work alongside project teams to incorporate generative design, optimization, and automation into architectural workflows.
  • Develop parametric models for façade systems, spatial configurations, environmental assessments, and intricate geometries.
  • Assist in exploring design alternatives through iterative, data-driven methods.
