What is a Roster?
A roster is a curated pool of pre-assessed candidates who may be contacted when relevant positions become available, allowing us to respond swiftly to hiring needs and significantly reduce recruitment timelines.
We invite applications for Assistant Research Associate positions, which are vital for monitoring project progress, evaluating outcomes, and adapting strategies to meet evolving agricultural challenges. These roles will focus on delivering science-based solutions that tackle global issues such as food security, climate resilience, and rural livelihoods.
Positions may be located in any country where CIMMYT operates.
Key Responsibilities for Assistant Research Associates:
- Oversee breeding nurseries and manage pollination teams to ensure high-quality seed production.
- Assist in the planning of experiments and preparation of seeds for nurseries and trials.
- Evaluate data quality and identify factors affecting it throughout the growing season; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Operate planting, harvesting, spraying equipment, and other tools necessary for research and agronomic management.
- Perform essential maintenance on research equipment, including troubleshooting and repairs.
- Monitor for weeds and pest presence to aid in research plot upkeep; communicate with relevant teams or collaborators as necessary.
- Provide training and support to temporary workers and team members.
