In 2017, over half of the population in Sub-Saharan Africa lacked access to bank accounts. We recognized the barriers—high fees, distant branches, and limited card acceptance. Many individuals were left to store their savings at home, while entrepreneurs faced exorbitant lending rates, and parents endured long waits to pay school fees in cash.
Our solution is simple yet revolutionary: we create financial services that are fee-free, instantly accessible, and universally accepted. In regions where basic utilities like electricity and roads are unreliable, our mobile app, launched in Senegal in 2017, allows for cash deposits, withdrawals, and peer-to-peer transactions. Today, we proudly serve millions of users across nine countries and continue to expand rapidly.
Your expertise is crucial in helping us achieve our ambitious goal of a cashless Africa.
Your Role
As an Applied AI Engineer on our Support Automation product team, you will:
- Connect research and production by developing AI models and agent systems that are integrated into real products.
- Design, assess, and enhance autonomous voice and digital agents that manage over 10 million customer interactions monthly across West Africa.
- Address challenging scenarios involving poor connectivity, low literacy, and languages with limited training datasets.
- Experiment with and integrate cutting-edge voice and text models.
- Take ownership of problems from discovery to production, collaborating with product and engineering leaders focused on delivering real customer impact.
