Role Overview
GitLab is hiring an Application Security Manager for the APAC region. This is a remote role open to candidates based in Australia, India, Japan, Singapore, or South Korea. The manager will lead the Application Security (AppSec) team within the Security Platforms & Architecture (SPA) sub-department. The AppSec team is central to protecting GitLab’s product suite.
What You Will Do
- Lead and support a team of Application Security Engineers (Intermediate to Staff level).
- Guide the team in security reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability triage, and secure design consultations across GitLab’s products.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Product Security, working closely with engineers to assess and improve the security of features before release.
- Help the team adapt to rapid product changes and new technologies while maintaining strong security standards.
- Identify and communicate significant product security risks and trade-offs to the appropriate leadership.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure the team works efficiently and effectively.
