Position Title: Motor Test EngineerDepartment: Test & IntegrationReports To: Product Test ManagerPosition OverviewThe Motor Test Engineer is vital to the meticulous testing, evaluation, and validation of electric motors along with their integrated control systems, particularly Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). This position requires the development and execution of detailed testing protocols, data collection and analysis, as well as the delivery of comprehensive performance reports. A high degree of technical expertise in both hardware and software testing environments is essential, with an emphasis on automation, data acquisition, and advanced diagnostic tools to guarantee superior results.The Test Engineer will devise and implement testing algorithms to evaluate critical motor performance metrics, which include torque, speed, efficiency, power factor, and thermal behavior under diverse load conditions. Proficiency in LabVIEW and TestStand is crucial for automating testing processes, enhancing data collection efficiency, and ensuring consistent, reliable results across varied testing environments. This role also encompasses monitoring power quality parameters such as harmonics and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) to meet applicable standards.Furthermore, the Motor Test Engineer will work collaboratively with Design, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to diagnose issues, provide constructive feedback for product enhancements, and refine testing methodologies. Participation in continuous improvement efforts and contributions toward the creation of innovative testing strategies to optimize motor and drive system performance are also integral to this role.
