Experience in conducting collaborative research and a proven track record in publishing.

Huawei Canada is seeking a talented AI Researcher for an exciting 12-month contract opportunity.

Our mission is to drive advancements in artificial intelligence and related technologies to benefit both our organization and society at large. We focus on transformative projects aimed at pushing the boundaries of state-of-the-art research and integrating innovative solutions into our products, including large language models (LLMs), reinforcement learning (RL), natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, AI theory, and autonomous driving.

Your Role:

  • Leverage your expertise in computer vision (CV), machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), and AI to solve significant technical challenges, collaborating with one of the most innovative product development teams globally to translate your ideas into the next generation of Huawei's products.

  • Design, plan, and execute scientific research projects that advance knowledge in areas pertinent to business applications.

  • Conduct both theoretical and applied research in collaboration with a dedicated team of researchers, developing fundamental algorithms and computer vision platforms to enhance the competitiveness and user experience of Huawei's products.

  • Produce high-quality patents and academic publications in applied machine learning, computer vision, and graphics (e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS).

  • Oversee data collection, processing, model training, and testing processes.

  • Create highly optimized, compact models suitable for real-time processing.
