This group works closely with engineering teams at a wide range of organizations, from digital-native startups to global enterprises, to streamline how software is planned, built, and delivered.
Role overview
The AI Deployment Engineer - Codex role focuses on enabling clients to get the most out of OpenAI's coding tools. This position involves collaborating with engineering leaders and developers to design, validate, and scale advanced AI workflows. Much of the work centers around using Codex to prototype, build demos, and develop integrations or automations that clients can put into practice.
This is a cross-functional role. The AI Deployment Engineer works with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product Development, Applied Engineering, and the broader Codex organization. The goal is to advocate for client needs, shape product direction, and support the deployment of intelligent coding systems at leading companies.
What you will do
- Serve as the main technical expert on OpenAI Codex for a varied client base, working closely with their engineering teams to develop coding workflows.
- Work directly with clients to design and implement AI-powered development workflows, from early prototypes through to scalable production systems.
- Build demos, reference projects, and workflow automations, using Codex as a core part of the process.
- Lead workshops, technical deep dives, and hands-on training to help engineering organizations adopt AI coding tools safely and effectively.
- Create technical content, such as examples, guides, and best practices, for the OpenAI Cookbook, supporting the wider developer community.
- Gather insights from real-world client deployments and turn them into actionable product feedback for internal teams.
- Guide clients in understanding how AI coding tools can fit into their software development lifecycle, technical plans, and broader organizational strategies.
