Join our dynamic team at BACR as an After School Program Instructor, where you will play a pivotal role in expanding learning opportunities for students beyond the traditional school day. Our expanded learning programs provide academic support, enrichment activities, and essential skill-building, fostering an engaging and supportive environment for youth development. As an instructor, you will ensure a safe, interactive space that aligns with the Expanded Learning Program's 12 quality standards. We seek creative, energetic individuals who are passionate about education and dedicated to continuous youth development, with strong connections to the communities and families we serve.

Sign-on Bonus: $500 after 90 days of successful continuous employment

Benefits:

  • Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
  • Part-time: 22-26 hours per week (depending on location)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess either (a) an Associate Degree or higher, or (b) 48 college units, or (c) a High School Diploma or GED and successfully pass the Instructional Aide exam.
  • Successful clearance of a criminal background check and TB test is required.
  • Ability to reliably commute to Oakland, CA.
  • Strong commitment to educational equity and leadership.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to professional development.

  • Support and promote the emotional well-being of students.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for learning.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students facing challenges.
  • Engage students in lesson plans that reinforce and support school-day learning.
  • Facilitate community circles based on restorative practices.
  • Collaborate with youth to create a youth-driven curriculum that supports their learning and development.
