Requirements:Doctoral degree in a relevant academic discipline related to data analytics. At least 7 years of professional experience in data analytics roles. Strong technical proficiency, particularly in R and Python programming. Consulting experience, engaging with either external or internal clients. Preferred Skills & Experience:A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably at the graduate level.

Columbia University's School of Professional Studies (SPS) is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of part-time Adjunct Lecturer to join our esteemed faculty team for the graduate-level Capstone course titled Solving Real World Problems with Analytics. This course serves as the pivotal final experience for students pursuing a Master of Science degree in Applied Analytics, where they will leverage their academic knowledge to tackle real-world challenges through consulting engagements with leading corporate or institutional sponsors. Our Capstone sponsors encompass a diverse array of industries, including finance, healthcare, consumer retail, digital media, and non-profit organizations, ranging from large global corporations to innovative startups and esteemed nonprofits.

As an Adjunct Lecturer, you will serve as a primary instructor and an integral part of our faculty community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend all scheduled class sessions, held weekly on either Wednesday from 6:10 PM to 8 PM ET, Thursday from 6:10 PM to 8 PM ET, or Thursday from 8:10 PM to 10 PM ET.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to students, facilitating communication between students and corporate project sponsors, and participating in meetings with sponsor companies and student project teams.
  • Address student inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Hold regular office hours to provide additional support to students.
  • Evaluate and grade student submissions and assessments.
