Requirements:Ph. D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Python. Solid understanding of UX design and data visualization principles. Demonstrated industry experience in UX/UI design and web development. Preferred Qualifications:Over 10 years of relevant professional experience. At least 2 years of teaching experience at the university level, preferably at the graduate level. Experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for a minimum of 2 years. Familiarity with generative AI models for data visualization.

Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) is eager to invite qualified candidates to apply for a part-time position as an Adjunct Lecturer. This role involves teaching a graduate-level course focused on AI User Interfaces for Analytics. The course is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of user experience (UX) design principles while exploring effective techniques and best practices for developing user interfaces (UIs). Participants will engage in creating intuitive, interactive, and visually compelling websites and dashboards that highlight AI-generated insights. The curriculum encompasses the entire lifecycle from design to implementation and evaluation of UIs, ensuring students acquire practical experience with web development technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and associated cloud services. Moreover, the course incorporates advanced AI technologies to facilitate the creation of intelligent and interactive UIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lectures, lead instructional activities, and foster classroom discussions. Classes typically convene weekly for up to 2 hours.
  • Address student inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Evaluate and grade student assignments and assessments.
  • Hold regular office hours for student consultations.
