This position is for the Cambridge Live-In Treatment program where the Addiction Treatment Worker will play a vital role in supporting program participants. You will collaborate with a dedicated staff team to facilitate various program-related activities, including leading group sessions.


** This is a permanent, part-time role offering paid personal days and vacation pay. **

Shifts are scheduled every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM. There is an option to take on additional shifts throughout the week in both Cambridge and Kitchener. A successful completion of a Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector) is required prior to employment. **


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the residence to ensure adherence to program guidelines.

  • Build and maintain supportive relationships with program participants while ensuring professional boundaries.

  • Lead psychoeducational and recreational group sessions.

  • Assist participants in accessing external services, including medical interventions as needed.

  • Evaluate complex situations and make sound decisions independently and collaboratively, including crisis intervention and safety planning.

  • Perform administrative and household responsibilities.

  • Uphold confidentiality in accordance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).

  • Maintain documentation and data entry as per agency and legislative standards.

  • Support medication management processes, including liaising with pharmacies and physicians, reviewing medication documents, and ensuring access to medications.

  • Organize and conduct random urine screening for drug testing.

  • Collaborate as part of a team, participating in meetings, training, and supervision sessions.

  • Engage in other program activities as required.

  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and training.


Job Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Awareness and understanding of issues affecting all genders and marginalized communities.

  • Proficient in interpersonal communication and crisis management.

  • Experience in group facilitation and program support.

  • Understanding of addiction treatment methodologies and community resources.
