Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance; CPA is a plus. A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, or public accounting roles, with previous direct management experience. Experience in inventory accounting is essential. Proficient in financial systems, reporting packages, and Microsoft Office suite. Exhibit strong attention to detail coupled with excellent problem-solving skills. Possess effective leadership, superior communication, and organizational abilities, thriving in a dynamic environment. A strong team player who encourages collaboration and contributes to a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Experience with Workday and other financial software is advantageous.

Join our team as an Accounting Manager in a hybrid role based at our South Charlotte, NC Headquarters (Tuesday through Thursday) with full remote work on Mondays and Fridays.

Red Ventures is in search of a dedicated Accounting Manager to lead our Accounting team, playing a pivotal role in overseeing a diverse range of accounting functions that support the Lonely Planet business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with leadership to foster the technical and professional growth of the team, including thorough reviews of work outputs to identify improvement opportunities and providing mentorship across all levels.
  • Manage and ensure the timely completion of all accounting activities performed by staff, strategically planning responsibilities and workload.
  • Conduct account analysis and reconciliation, focusing on complex general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee the accounting processes related to inventory valuation and associated accounts, including obsolescence and unbilled receipts.
  • Lead the annual international external audit processes.
  • Analyze and review journal entries, requisitions, and invoices for all levels of staff.
  • Prepare month-end financial statements and supplemental reports for various business units with differing business models.
  • Provide technical accounting support for significant and complex transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures, as well as for new accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards including ASC 606 and inventory accounting standards.
  • Leverage existing accounting systems to streamline and automate processes and reporting where feasible.
